Product Overview

Komorebi
Full Analog BBD Chorus-Flanger with 3 LFO Waves
3 patch points for modular fans
Works with a Boss style 9VDC centre pin negative power supply (not included)
Great for Static Comb Filters
BBD Time pushed from 2ms up to 40ms Units with serial up to 499, work with a dedicated 15VDC power supply (included)

The old version of the pedal (15VDC) is not available any more, but the new is drastically improved:

– A dedicated adapter is no longer needed. You can use any power supply that is made for effect pedals ( 9vDc 2,1mm centre negative)
– We kept the same headroom by adding high quality voltage converters by Texas Instruments
– Floor noise and signal to noise ratio is greatly reduced
– LFO Saw pop noise is minimised
– We removed the DIP switch on the back, as it was confusing
– We allowed higher delay times (it was 2ms to 30ms now it is 2ms to 35-40ms)
– We have added a soft switch for easier on/off action
– On the downsides, the true by pass was removed, but a CMOS technology is handling that. CMOS switches are completely colourless and transparent buffers, but they need power to work.

    An instant classic

Posted by Anthony on 8th Dec 2020

I was such a big fan of Dredbox’s original Komorebi, and was immediately intrigued when I heard they improved upon it. I loved the original so much that I was looking to pick up a second one for dual mono shenanigans. Infinitely curious, I went ahead and purchased two of these new ones to compare against the original. They made some MAJOR changes and for my tastes, they are all for the better. Sonically, the unit is lower noise with quite a bit more bandwidth. This is a classy, hi-fi chorus/flanger now as opposed to the original’s dark, murky, chewy sound. With the older unit, you’d lose some high end when you engaged the effect. Now, your tone remains relatively unchanged, but the pedal adds a bit of glossy sheen to your playing. Really addictive. The new foot switch is a dream, and the construction is just as good as ever. I can confirm that there is no trade-off with the new power requirements (9v vs 15v). This thing has great headroom. For those that haven’t used an original Komorebi, it’s a really intuitive chorus/flanger/vibrato/ring mod wrapped up in a beautiful case. You honesty can’t find an uninspiring sound in it. It adds so much to any setup! So, in short, a great pedal just got great-er. Dreadbox doesn’t get enough love for their effects. This is an instant classic in my book.
