Welcome to BPNYC(BoutiquePedal NYC)!!! online select shop for cutting edge musicians/sound creator…

My name is Tada. I also go by Noise Buddha lately when I put music out on my youtube channel. https://www.youtube.com/@tokiony
I’ve been in music business for little over 35 years now. Most of those time, I had my career in NYC as a multi-instrumentalist session guy in LES and Brooklyn. I was in bands like Blonde Redhead/Chin Chin/Russell Simins(JSBX)/Ultra Bide/Pleasure Unit/etc… also worked with Cibo Matto/The The/Kramer(Butthole Surfers)/Scotty Hard(producer Medeski Martin & Wood, U Tang Clan)/G-Love/Jimmy Tenor/etc… can’t list it all! As well as my own project Retada/Tadanoshin along with Japo Space Rock MARIANNE/Space Library(with Dan Snazalle of Snazzy FX)… mainly punk/funk/experimental/rock/electro/jazz/avant-garde but to be honest, I am into all kind of music. I started out with Elvis Presley/Ray Charles/Sergio Mendes/Harry Belafonte when I was a kid and went to British Rock/Metal/J-pop in High School… Now I am into ambient/free jazz/electronic/dance and no overdubs… and off course eurorack modularsynths!

I am originally from Tokyo but moved to NYC at age of 19… having a dream of being successful musician/artist, just like any other ambitious youngsters… I wanted to try out at world wide level, which wasn't the case in Tokyo for me. NYC was totally perfect for that, and it didn't take me a long time to meet a lot of great musicians & culture… I met a lot of guys thru Original Knitting Factory on Houston st/CBGB’s/The Cooler/Brownies and sometimes just hanging out at bars and coffee shops…

I always liked music of all genre(I really mean all!). It's all about creating a good sound for whatever that project needs, either all by yourself or with your team. You seek what that music needs and work on it. It seems simple but it takes time and effort. You can make bad music with your expensive gear, if you are not into it. Or you can make some great music with literally anything, if you do it in a smart way. Music is such a magic like that. I certainly experienced both…

As a musician, I always enjoyed all the equipment I used, ranging from a high-end vintage synthesizer to a half broken guitar. They are your tools and become part of your body. Regarding of what you use, you have to have a great relationship with your instruments, just like your life partner or your friends. Then you can create something great, I believe.

I was a busy musician for a long time but found it difficult to keep up that way after becoming a father. I had to turn down a lot of gigs. But I couldn’t work anything but music related. That's when I started this online musical instruments shop in 2011.

I already had good relationships with Electro Harmonix, Critter & Guitari, Snazzy FX, Skychord Electronics and Death By Audio for a long time. So, I started selling pedals and desktop synths first but now we carry tons of Eurorack Modularsynths! Every month I keep adding more stuff and the store isn’t just about the pedals anymore…

Please ask me any questions about the gear, music, life or whatever! We will totally geek out on cool new gears together~ I am here for you! and remember…

Keep on Electrifying!!!
